Career in the Hotel industry spans three decades, during which he has worked for a number of blue chip hotel companies, such as Thistle Hotels, Copthorne Hotels and Hilton International, at General Management and Senior Executive levels. He has extensive experience of hotel refurbishment projects and has opened two major new build hotel properties. He has managed hotels ranging in size from 34 bedrooms to 319 bedrooms in the 3,4 and 5 star markets and has successfully managed properties in turnround situations. He joined Portland in 2003 as Project Manager for new acquisitions and assumed his current role as Director of Operations in 2005 and now Managing Director. Bill holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Hotel Studies and has attended the 2006 Key Executives Programme at Harvard Business School
